Masterclass – Excel for financials

Financial professionals work with Excel daily. But are you doing it efficiently? Research shows that an average of one hour per day is lost when using Excel. That’s a shame. Because if you know how to make Excel work for you, instead of just working with Excel, you’ll have more time for other enjoyable things. Plus, you’ll extract even more value from your data, especially when you can present it clearly with visuals.

Beyond efficiency, using Excel is about adding value. Society is changing, and the importance of data processing and analysis is rapidly increasing. The professional of the future will make a difference with powerful tools (like Excel and Power BI) and data analysis.

What will we do?
In this workshop, we’ll cover a wide range of topics in a short time. We’ll focus on importing external data files, financial functions, data analysis, formulas, vertical lookup and better alternatives, pivot tables, reporting, and presentations. Additionally, we’ll give you a brief introduction to using macros with public VBA code. By the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to use Excel in a smart and efficient way.

Who is it for?
This workshop is designed for professionals in accountancy, finance & BI, data & analytics, and IT project management.

For this online workshop, it’s helpful to have basic knowledge of Excel. If you’re unsure whether your knowledge is sufficient, feel free to contact Clemens van der Werf (see below). He will send you a document with a few questions to assess your skill level.

When and where?
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will be held via Microsoft Teams.

Who will give the workshop?
The workshop will be led by Arnoud Gieles. Arnoud has a passion for Excel and numbers. He worked for over 7 years in audit (at BDO and Qconcepts) and is currently working as a management accountant.
