Yet behind those visible issues lie policy choices that directly affect entrepreneurs, directors-major shareholders and accountants. Which party takes the lead in forming a government will largely determine the course for SMEs in the coming years: more or less regulation, greater freedom for entrepreneurship, investment incentives or a more cautious fiscal approach. For organisations, now is the time to look ahead and understand what is shifting beneath the surface.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"826\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">At asqin, we help our clients do exactly that. Flexibility and employment relations<\/strong><br \/>\nThe labour market remains a key focus for any government. The DBA Act, new VBAR assessments and stricter oversight of self-employment structures are putting pressure on flexibility.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"353\"><strong data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"299\">PvdA\u2013GL<\/strong> want less flexibility and more permanent contracts.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"353\"><strong data-start=\"356\" data-end=\"371\">D66 and CDA<\/strong> seek balance: self-employment is fine, but within clear frameworks.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"353\"><strong data-start=\"444\" data-end=\"459\">VVD and PVV<\/strong> emphasise entrepreneurial freedom and less regulation.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1963\" data-end=\"2293\"><strong data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"538\">What this means:<\/strong><br data-start=\"538\" data-end=\"541\" \/>Organisations will need to reassess how they work with external professionals. Think about contract structures, tax assessments and the distribution of responsibilities. Flexibility will remain possible, but it requires deeper insight and tighter control of risk.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"856\"><strong>2. Regulatory pressure and compliance<br \/>\n<\/strong>Whether it is CSRD, ESG or UBO structures, none of the major parties advocate fewer rules. Some focus on sustainability and transparency, while others highlight practicality and the reduction of administrative burdens.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1306\">\n<li data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1155\">\n<p data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1155\"><strong data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1102\">D66 and PvdA\u2013GL<\/strong> stress reporting, transparency and sustainability.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1155\">\n<p data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1155\"><strong data-start=\"1158\" data-end=\"1173\">VVD and CDA<\/strong> aim to simplify regulation, but not abolish it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1306\">\n<p data-start=\"1226\" data-end=\"1306\"><strong data-start=\"1226\" data-end=\"1233\">PVV<\/strong> focuses on national priorities, without easing compliance obligations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1582\"><strong data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1328\">What this means:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1331\" \/>Regulation will remain a constant. The difference lies in pace, priorities and supervision. For organisations, it is crucial to design processes so that information remains reliable, up to date and verifiable, regardless of how high the bar is set.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1589\" data-end=\"1639\"><strong>3. Investment focus or restrained budgeting?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe decisions made in The Hague will determine whether there is room for growth and innovation, or a period of caution and cost control ahead. It is therefore vital to stay alert to what continues to generate value within your organisation and what no longer does.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"2128\">\n<li data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"1994\">\n<p data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"1994\"><strong data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"1936\">Left-leaning parties<\/strong> want to invest in sustainability and the public sector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2073\">\n<p data-start=\"1997\" data-end=\"2073\"><strong data-start=\"1997\" data-end=\"2012\">VVD and PVV<\/strong> favour tax relief and a more conservative fiscal approach.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2074\" data-end=\"2128\">\n<p data-start=\"2076\" data-end=\"2128\"><strong data-start=\"2076\" data-end=\"2091\">CDA and D66<\/strong> seek stability through innovation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2458\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2150\">What this means:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2150\" data-end=\"2153\" \/>Investment-driven coalitions create opportunities for growth, collaboration and innovation projects. More restrained governments demand agility, sharper priorities and temporary expertise.
