Mark van Bruxvoort ・ Woonbedrijf Eindhoven

Mark deliberately chose the role of Senior Business Controller at Woonbedrijf in Eindhoven. With his experience and hands-on mentality, he took on this challenge, while maintaining his flexibility through the opportunities at asqin. “My own requirements matched the needs and wants of the assignment at Woonbedrijf, which offered a lot of flexibility and opportunities.” – Mark

The question behind the question

Looking for the second line
Mark’s initial conversation with Woonbedrijf revealed a need for support in the Finance & Control department. After further conversations, the request became more specific: there was a great need to improve internal controls and streamline communication with the auditor. Mark dove right in: “It quickly became clear that there was a need for a project to get the organization more in control according to the three lines of defense model, with the second line missing.” Mark wrote a plan and became the initiator of the implementation himself, with which they are now in full swing.

Continuous development

Happy to have you
Thanks to the opportunities within asqin, Mark can continuously develop himself. “With a longer assignment, I am also expected to constantly come up with improvements and solutions. It is nice to see that I am really part of the team. Colleagues and even other departments now ask me for advice. It gives a good feeling to notice that I am really appreciated.” – Mark.

What suits me best

Improving
Woonbedrijf is a large housing corporation, which brings with it different dynamics than smaller organizations. “I have learned how to adapt to the organizational structure and sensitivities of larger organizations, and what that requires of me as a consultant,” Mark says. He also finds it immensely interesting to be immersed in a different mission and vision each time. “Continuous learning and improvement,” Woonbedrijf’s slogan, is something that suits Mark perfectly. “Not only did I learn and improve myself, but I also helped the organization do so in a structured way.”
