Are you happy at work? Does work make you happy? And do you experience the definition of work happiness as it is meant to be? Anne de Bruijn, Financial Consultant at asqin, talks about her work happiness and experiences at asqin.
Working the asqin way
“At asqin, they do everything they can to make sure that you are not only happy with your work, but actually enjoy it,” Anne says. When we ask her how they do that, she adds, “One of the key components here is flexibility. If you enjoy your work and feel good in your workplace, you are more motivated and work more efficiently.” Whether Anne wants to get to work early in the morning or enjoy being productive in the evenings, it’s all possible. As long as you are available to your team and the customers, she has the freedom to work when it suits her best. Anne: “This flexibility means, for example, that I currently work from home for two days so that I can walk my dog during my lunch break. These are moments that recharge me tremendously.”
Own responsibility
At asqin, you get a lot of personal responsibility. This means that you are in control and you can and may approach your work your way. “For me, this means that I manage my own schedule. I decide on the layout of my day and tasks and make sure I meet my deadlines. The flip side of this is that when I want to delve further into a subject, I also have my own responsibility to do so.
Be curious
Work happiness not only promotes an employee’s productivity, but also the positive atmosphere within the organization and teams. People who are happy in their work collaborate better, are more helpful and create strong bonds with their colleagues. “At asqin, we have small, close-knit teams of young professionals, which makes for a dynamic and strong work atmosphere. We learn from each other and teamwork is paramount,” Anne says. At asqin, the teams are completely self-managing, which means there is a lot of freedom. Anne: “And if I want to spar with a colleague, the door is always wide open!” Be curious, be asqin.”
My dream job
At asqin it’s not just about work, but about having fun in what you do. That’s why we always look for assignments that really fit you, both as a person and as part of your vision and mission, says Anne. “Because when you have a fun assignment, you enjoy your work more. I notice in myself that I stay motivated to improve myself and learn new skills, and I really like that.” At asqin, we always try to look for an assignment that breathes your name. Anne: “For me, it was not very clear what my dream assignment actually was. Because I got the chance to work at different organizations, in different roles and industries, I started to shape my dream assignment more and more. I am extremely happy that asqin encourages me in this.”
