Rita grew from a JADS student into an indispensable force at asqin

Rita joined asqin after completing her studies at JADS (Jheronimus Academy of Data Science). Her ambition and eagerness to learn were a perfect match for asqin. She was given the space to grow, supported by guidance from colleagues and regular feedback. What started as a stepping stone after graduation quickly evolved into a full-fledged role where Rita could further develop her knowledge and skills.

Rita is a vital part of the Capital Markets team, helping clients leverage technology, data science, and business insights to enhance their knowledge, products, and services. What attracted her most to this complex market was the diversity of people and the challenge of understanding the entire financial industry process, with its global interdependencies.

Solving complex challenges

Some projects feel like an escape room. For instance, Rita was tasked with making clearing costs comprehensible for clients. This was not just about translating complex business terms but also about identifying and bringing together the right stakeholders inside and outside the organization. With a tight deadline and the pressure to gather all necessary information in time, the project required intensive collaboration and a sharp understanding of the details. By working closely with her team and keeping the bigger picture in mind, she successfully completed the project. It was a tough puzzle, but in the end, Rita cracked it.

At asqin, it’s all about asking the right questions. Inspired by Socrates on Sneakers, Rita emphasizes the importance of curiosity. Gathering insights starts with finding the right sources and asking focused questions. As she puts it, “There’s no such thing as a dumb question.” Process improvement happens through continuous feedback loops, where facts are critically reviewed, and the 80/20 rule is applied to maintain focus.

To ensure clients fully grasp the solutions, Rita and asqin organized demos and workshops. Additionally, the RACI method was used to clarify roles and responsibilities and ensure proper documentation.

Collaboration and creativity

Collaboration is key to success. Everyone on the team contributes their unique strengths. As Rita describes it: “You can break a single stick, but a bundle of sticks is much harder to snap.”

Creativity also plays a crucial role. While evaluating an application for a client, Rita’s team discovered that the real need was for specific reports. By flipping their approach, they developed a more efficient reporting tool—one that reduced costs and proved valuable for similar business cases.

Impact on clients and personal growth
This project not only helped the client grow but also strengthened Rita’s analytical and problem-solving skills. The client was able to critically assess existing processes, leading to a cost-effective solution that better aligned with their actual needs.

Her way of working seamlessly aligns with asqin’s core values: be sharp, be eager, be curious, be all-in. Rita takes ownership of her work, refuses to accept ‘no’ as an answer, and thrives on the challenge of solving complex problems.

From student to essential team member

Today, Rita is an indispensable force within asqin. She is involved in strategic projects and plays an active role in delivering solutions for clients. The freedom to ask questions, make mistakes, and collaborate with colleagues has helped her grow both professionally and personally.

At asqin, everything revolves around the drive to learn and grow. We believe in the power of curiosity and collaboration to make a real impact. Curious about how you can develop at asqin? Feel free to reach out!
