Case

Koen van Zon ・ Chugoku Paints B.V.

At asqin everything is about freedom and responsibility. Working where and when you want, in consultation with the customer. This is exactly what makes the approach at asqin unique. “The freedom to determine how I organize my work myself gives me peace of mind, especially for assignments with a lot of travel time,” says Koen. He emphasizes that this freedom allows him to maintain a good work-life balance, which is essential in his current job.

Freedom to choose
The future
For Koen, working at asqin is not just a job, it’s a way of life. The flexibility and opportunities to adapt his work to his own needs have brought him a lot, especially when he started working at Chugoku Paints B.V. on an ERP implementation. “It’s great to work on projects that determine the future of the company. It gives me energy and satisfaction,” Koen says enthusiastically.

The question behind the question
Searching for the core
When Koen became involved in an ERP implementation at Chugoku Paints B.V. through Marc Zoeter, he was immediately challenged to look beyond the surface. “With a new ERP implementation, you often get a list of requirements that don’t reflect the real needs of the organization. Our job is to challenge the customer to discover the origin of problems and take that as a starting point,” Koen explains. He knows better than anyone else that the question behind the question is always crucial to achieving real, sustainable solutions.

An opportunity to grow
Be sharp
Koen emphasizes how important it is to continuously develop yourself: “With a long-term project, such as at Chugoku Paints B.V., I am expected to constantly come up with improvements and new ideas. That keeps me on my toes and ensures that I keep challenging myself.” He really feels valued within the team and enjoys the interaction between him and his colleagues, “It’s nice to see that I am really part of the team. Colleagues and even other departments now ask me for advice. That makes me feel good.”

What makes working at asqin unique for Koen?

I am constantly working to find the question behind the question and fundamentally improve processes,” he enthuses. What Koen values most about working at asqin is the freedom to choose which assignments suit him and in which he wants to develop: “asqin gives me the space to choose projects that really suit me and that I get energy from. That is what makes my work so valuable.”

When Koen looks back on his time at Chugoku Paints B.V., he is proud of what he has accomplished and how he has been able to use his expertise. “I would do it again in a heartbeat,” Koen says with a smile. “It’s a beautiful, far-reaching project with a great customer. The space that asqin offers to work independently and make your own choices really allows you to get the best out of yourself.”
